Child-like Wonder

Here are three short videos I created recently to document Savannah at 1 year old. She can’t walk just yet but she gets around. If only life was this fascinating to us as adults I think we’d have a lot more joy in the world.

  1. DEWDE! Your new blog is HOT! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Oh thtop it.

    *blush*

    peace|dewde

  3. Uh, “the Husband Protocol”? What’s up with that? I never really grokked the whole “dewde” thing, but I’m okay with people who can’t spell pretending they’re cool by intentionally misspelling words. I guess. If my vote counts for anything, I’d like to see you create another variation on Furled. It’s much more “classic” than “dewde.” If you’re really creative, you could probably spin it as some acronym that honors your daughters! Here’s my five-second effort: Find uncarved rocks, loved every day. sort of like a haiku gone awry, but that’s what you get for free!

  4. Crap. Um, I mean “shoot.” I meant “Fine uncarved rocks…”

  5. I have new fans now. I don’t need you anymore.

The concept behind Furled.com was supposed to be: My thoughts and opinions, all furled up and packaged together, in an online format. But then someone bought furl.com and turned it into something popular and useful like digg.

  6. You need to convince the new fans to post comments. Vaporware fans == no fun.

BTW, I get a nasty 500 error if I try to comment without providing the name and email info.

  7. I have no idea why I feel like I have to visit your blog and comment every half hour. Probably it’s the subliminal messages you have discreetly hidden around the site. I have to say, though, that you do have some talent at video editing. Either that or you’ve gotten really lucky in the dozen or so Dewde videos I’ve watched in the last couple years. I was inspired to try to do something similar a couple times and went nuts after a couple hours each time. I was using Adobe Premiere, which is pretty complicated for a novice like me, but I don’t think I can blame the software. Your videos are good stuff that really groks the moment. Your kids (and everyone else that watches) will really appreciate all that effort when they sit down to watch these one night 20 years from now. Of course, they’ll have a heck of a time finding the right video codec…

    Old habits die hard?

Thanks man. When I gave of World of Warcraft, video editing became one of my new replacement hobbies.

LOL I know right. That’s so gonna suck.
